The Ghorepani Poon Hill & Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek with Desire Adventures offers an unforgettable trekking experience in the heart of Nepal’s spectacular Annapurna region. This unique journey combines two of the most rewarding trails, allowing trekkers to enjoy the best of both popular and off-the-beaten-path routes. With panoramic mountain vistas, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural encounters, this trek is ideal for adventurers seeking both natural beauty and authentic Himalayan charm.
The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the starting point of the trek. The trail first leads to the beautiful village of Ulleri, passing through terraced farmlands and traditional settlements. As you ascend, you’ll walk through dense rhododendron and oak forests that burst into color during the spring season, creating a truly magical atmosphere. Reaching Ghorepani, perched at 2,880 meters, offers your first opportunity to witness the towering peaks of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
The highlight of this section is the early morning hike to Poon Hill (3,210 meters), one of Nepal’s most famous viewpoints. As the sun rises over the horizon, golden light bathes the snowy summits of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), creating an unforgettable Himalayan panorama. After capturing this breathtaking moment, the trail gradually leaves the busy paths behind and ventures towards the quieter Mardi Himal route.
The second part of the trek reveals a different side of the Annapurna region. Passing through the peaceful villages of Tadapani and Landruk, you’ll experience the warm hospitality of the Gurung people and witness traditional mountain life up close. The path then climbs through lush forests to Forest Camp before reaching High Camp, where you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna South. Finally, the trek culminates at Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 meters), offering panoramic vistas and a sense of pure mountain solitude.
Throughout the journey, Desire Adventures ensures a smooth, safe, and enriching trekking experience with professional guides, comfortable accommodations, and personalized service, making this trek a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and natural beauty in Nepal’s Himalayas.
