Mera Peak Climbing, a high-altitude adventure, takes you deep into the heart of Nepal’s remote Solu-Khumbu region. Standing at 6,476 meters (21,247 feet), Mera Peak is Nepal’s highest permitted trekking peak, offering spectacular views of some of the world’s most iconic mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga. This 18-day expedition with Desire Adventures combines trekking and mountaineering, making it an unforgettable experience for thrill-seekers and adventure enthusiasts.

Journey Highlights
The adventure begins in Kathmandu, where climbers prepare for the journey ahead with briefings and gear checks. A scenic flight to Lukla marks the start of the trek. Unlike the busy Everest Base Camp trails, the route to Mera Peak takes you through tranquil, untouched landscapes, including the beautiful Hinku Valley. Trekkers pass through quaint Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, dense rhododendron forests, and high-altitude grazing lands, offering an authentic cultural and natural experience.

To ensure safety and success, the itinerary is carefully planned with ample time for acclimatization. Days are set aside at Khare (5,045m) for rest and climbing training. These sessions help participants learn the use of essential mountaineering equipment like crampons, ropes, and ice axes, ensuring they’re prepared for the climb.

The most exciting part of the journey is the summit day, which begins early in the morning. Guided by experienced Sherpa climbers, participants ascend the glacier to the summit. The reward? A panoramic view of five of the world’s tallest peaks in the glow of the morning sun, a moment of pure exhilaration.
