The Ghorepani Poonhill Trek is famously known for being one of the shortest treks where you can enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains while avoiding the strenuous long hour’s walks. The Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek is well known for its diversity in culture and abundance in natural beauty. Ghorepani Ghandruk Trek lies in the Annapurna Region but only covers the lower trail reaching upto 3193m. The trek is comparatively easy and does not have the risk of Altitude Sickness; a major issue for travelers trekking in the Himalayas. Detail Itinerary
From the airport, our team representative will pick you up and drop you to your hotels. After the check in formalities you can freshen up and stroll around the city.
We will start our trek today leaving Kathmandu. We will take the tourist bus to Pokhara from Kathmandu. The bus leaves from Kantipath every morning at 7:00am. After the 7-8 hours long drive with scenic view of the landscapes and rural settlements, we reach the beautiful city of Pokhara. We will be staying in a tourist standard hotel in Pokhara. The city is famous for its beautiful Lake and is considered as a “Trekkers Hub” since many trekking route start from Pokhara. We can stroll around the lakeside or rest for our trek ahead today. Overnight at Pokhara.

Highlights: View from the tourist bus along the windy highway with Trisuli River below the road, breathtaking view of waterfalls, rivers, jungles, hills, hamlets higher up on the hills, terraced fields with seasonal crop, different vegetations, curious faces of people running motels, restaurants and lodges. Pokhara: Trekkers hub, Lakeside area in Pokhara with various cafes and attractions.
After breakfast we will head towards Tikadhunga today. From Pokhara we take the bus to Nayapul on the North West. The bus passes through various small settlements and takes about 1.5 hours to reach Nayapul. From Nayapul we will walk up to Birethani which is about 20 minutes away from Nayapul. Here, your guide will fill out the legal formalities as the ACAP documents for your trek. From Birethani we eanter the Annapurna Region and walk towards Tikadhunga following the main trail. Along the way we pass villages like Lamdawali, Sudame and Hile walking on the east of the Bhurungdi Khola. Overnight at Tikadhunga.

After breakfast today, we set off to reach our destination for today; Ghorepani. Ghorepani got its name from its ancient traders who used to rest at this point to collect water (pani) for their horses (ghoda). From Tikadhunga we cross a bridge climbing about 3280 steps to reach Ulleri. Ulleri is a small Magar village offering a good view of the Annapurna South and the Hiunchuli. From Ulleri we ascend further and reach Ghorepani, the gateway to Poonhill. We will rest at Ghorepani today and hike up to Poonhill for the majestic view of the mountains tomorrow. Overnight at Ghorepani.

Ulleri: a large Magar village offering magnificent view of Annapurna South and Himchuli, seasonal forest of the conservation area, spectacular view of Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri from Ghorepani, temple and internet cafes at Ghorepani along with chilly weather.
Today will be the day we will get the best view of the mountains from Poonhill. Poonhill is famous for its sunrise amidst the mountains bringing out the glorious beauty of nature. To enjoy this sunrise in the Annapurna range, we will start walking early in the morning and witness the glory of nature at its finest. After enjoying the panoramic beauty, we head down to Ghorepani and have our lunch after which we will start walking downhill towards Tadapani. We will come across slate quarry and steep trails until we reach Tadapani. Tadapani has a water tower in its village from where it gets its name (Tadapani literally translates to Far Water in Nepali). The trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to reach Banthanti and eventually to Tadapani. Overnight at a hotel in Tadapani.

Highlights: Magnificent view of sunrise from Poonhill along with close up view of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range with 20 other highest peaks of the world, Deurali Pass, several waterfalls on the way to Tadapani.
From Tadapani we start our trek today towards Ghandruk. Along the way we come across Gurung Villages with traditional settlements and walk along the forest trails along the ridges of rhododendron and pine trees. Ghandruk is a small Gurung village with a stunning view of South Annapurna and Huinchuli range. The houses are beautiful and traditional with slope roofs and the village is built on a inclined slope and each houses and paths are connected by stone stairs. Overnight at Ghandruk.

Highlights: Easy Trail leading with Rhododendron and Oak forest, different type of birds. Ghandruk village: Introduction to a large Gurung village featuring hotels and lodges, Gurung museum, handicraft center, health post, temples, Gurung cultural program and a majestic view of Annapurna South, Hiun Chuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna.
The walk from Ghandruk to Nayapul is comparatively easy and takes about 3-4 hours. Along the way we will walk past settlements including Chane, Kimche and Syauli Bazar. The trail along the Modi Khola (River) will take us to Birethani where we will check out from the ACAP region. Finally saying our goodbyes to the Annapurna Circuit Trail, we will reach Nayapul from where an hour and a half long bus drive will take us to Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara, we will check-in to our hotel. The evening can be spent strolling around the city.

Highlights: Coming across settlements like Imle, Chane and Kimche, Modi River, Pokhara: lake side, nightlife, beautiful environment and other tourist attractions.
We will be returning to Kathmandu from Pokhara today. The tourist bus takes about 7-8 hours to reach Kathmandu and along the way we will witness amazing landscapes, forests, hills, rivers, local settlements and glorious mountains (depending on the season). We will bid our farewell to the Himalayas and arrive at Kathmandu. Upon reaching your hotel you can freshen up and later we will invite you to a farewell dinner. We can discuss on your experience and get feedback from you.

What should I bring?
Along with warm clothes you will also need other equipment for the sufficient protection of your body. Below is the list of necessary items that you need to pack before commencing your trek.
Head- Hat (with a wide brim), Sunglasses (with UV protection), Sunscreen lotion and Lip balm
Upper body- T-shirts (2), light and expedition weight thermal tops, Fleece jacket and pullover, Fleece wind-stopper jacket (Optional), waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket, down vest/jacket (included)
Hands - Lightweight gloves, heavy-weight gloves/mittens with a waterproof outer shell
Lower body - Underwear (4), hiking shorts (2), lightweight cotton long pants, light and expedition weight thermal bottoms, Fleece or wool pants, waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell pants
Feet - Thin, light-wear inner socks (4), thick, warm wool hiking socks (4), hiking boots with spare laces, camp shoes (sneakers and/or sandals), gaiters.
Accessories - Headlamp with spare bulb and batteries, small padlock or combination lock, basic first aid kit, large plastic bags (for keeping items dry inside trek bag), day pack, water bottles (2), hiking pole/walking sticks, small ear plugs, fanny bags for your valuables.

Nevertheless, an assistant leader will also be provided with every addition of 5 pax. You will have 1 porter for 2 trekkers who will be carrying 25-30 kilograms of weight.
