Great experience to the Mardi Himal Base Camp

All our arrangements to do the Mardi Himal trek was smooth and quick over whtasapp via Nava (who would also be our guide during the trip).

Before the trip, he as quick to answer and patient with all the never-ending questions that I had and I had many since i've never done a multi-day trek in the mountains before!

Depending on your requirements, Nava's able to plan out the itinerary that you require. From the start to the end of the trip, Nava made all the arrangements, picked us up at the airport from when we arrived and helped with the transfers before we left. We did an additional day in Pohkara and also Katmandu free and easy. The 3-star hotels that we got back in town were very clean and comfortable (and trust me, you'll appreciate them after all the nights in the mountain!).

We hike once in awhile but wouldn't consider ourselves seasoned hikers so Naval made sure that on the 1st day, our hike was shorter so that he could assess our fitness standards. Also, an oximeter was used to check our oxygen levels and heart rate as we went further up for safety reasons. We weren't expecting it to be snowing at the base camp, so that got us both excited but also slightly concerned - and again Nava was prepared with clamp-ons! Happy to say that because we (and mostly Nava) were very perpared, we were one of the 2 groups that made it up to Mardi Himal base camp that day! Due to the snow conditions, the rest of the groups had to turn around.

Accommodation along the trek was basic but clean (as you would expect up on the mountains). Our porter, Dan not only bared the load of our heavy bags but also was really helpful too in keeping a look out for when donkeys and buffalos came in our path and making sure that we were out of harms way!

When you do hikes like that you always want to make sure you're in good hands- and we definitely like that with Desired Adventures and Nava! They're a young company, and it's great to support a local business that tries to give their best.

And hey - Nava takes amazing photos too! I mean, did it really happen if you don't have great photos to remember the trip? haha.
